Lyle & Scott
Lyle and Scott clothing was originally founded more than a hundred years ago in the small Scottish borders town of Harwich. In 1874, partners William Lyle and Walter Scott stated this well known knitwear company, having been inspired by the knitwear giant Pringle of Scotland.
Lyle and Scott started life as just a small knitwear company making hosiery and underwear. However, by the 1920s, Lyle and Scott jumpers had been added to the range, as the company expanded into outer wear.
From as far back as the 1920, Lyle and Scott clothing has had strong links in the world of golf. Lyle and Scott clothing and the famous Lyle and Scott polo shirt has been represented by professional golfer such as Greg Norman, Sandy Lyle and Gary Player. You will also see British golfer Lee Westwood sporting a Lyle and Scott polo shirt or Lyle and Scott jumpers. Other legendary sporting personalities such as Sir Ian Botham and Peter Shilton have been know to wear a Lyle & Scott polo shirt or a Lyle & Scott v neck.
In recent years the vibrant Lyle and Scott polo shirt and Lyle and Scott jumpers have successfully tapped into their distinguished past to product a ‘vintage range’ with a modern twist. Today Lyle and Scott clothing has four collections: the vintage, heritage, golf and recently launched club collection. All of the collections include the now famous Lyle & Scott polo shirt.
The heritage collection includes Lyle & Scott polo shirts, Lyle & Scott v neck and Lyle & Scott jumpers , all of which have the time honoured styling, creating a traditional yet fashionable look.
