Pyrenex has been harvesting goose and duck down in Saint-Sever, France, for more than 150 years, but it wasn’t until the 70s when it started creating wearable outerwear that it really came into its own. Using expertise and ancestral practices passed down through generations, its jackets are designed to perform, protect and insulate using its exceptional down and have been tested in some of the harshest environments in the world from the Himalayas to the Pyrenees.
Filling Pieces has gone from designing one shoe borne out of a lack of anything unique on the market to a footwear goliath worn all over the Europe and beyond. Guillaume Philibert is the man behind the shoes who established Filling Pieces in 2009 and is now one of the best shoe designers in the past few years.
Along with Proper Mag, we were kindly invited to Barbour’s North-East HQ in South Shields to meet Ian Bergin, Director of Menswear. We had the pleasure of meeting Ian to discuss how found himself at the iconic British outerwear giant, the story behind Barbour and Barbour International and the fascinating Barbour archive that’s steeped in history.
It’s about that time of year where you start looking for that warm winter jacket to see you through the cold months that are well on the way. It’s not a search to be taken lightly, either. It’s a big investment. With the right piece, it can be worn year after year. A few key components for your winter warmer: padded, practical and a fur hood. Froccella ticks all those boxes.
